This awesome bass project was for Chris Edkins Recording (http://www.chrisedkinsrecording.co.uk) and was the very first bass to be etched by Burntaxe. Tom the lead axe maker has been using the studio with his band The River Jumpers and has been playing sessions with Burntaxe 01. Chris's mind was blown. A conversation was sparked and it became apparent that a guitar needed to be etched for the studio. The chosen axe was a Yamaha RBX370A Bass that had been stripped of its paint to reveal an awesome wood finish. All the hardware was stripped out and the laser etcher was set up to burn into the wood. The singe was just right and a stunning contrast was created between the etch and the mango wood. The bass is now hanging up loud and proud in the studio. Thanks go to Chris for giving us the opportunity to etch our first bass!
